The Antinori family purchased the La Braccesca Estate in 1990. The estate covers more than 900 acres of land that once comprised the estate of the noble Bracci family, who gave the winery both its name and its coat of arms: an armour-clad arm holding a sword. The estate straddles the border between Montepulciano, known for its prestigious Vino Nobile wines, and Cortona, famous for its Etruscan origins, medieval architecture and emerging reputation for producing fine Syrah.
